City of Hudson – Short Term Home Rentals

Follow-Up Public Meeting on Short-Term Rental Regulations

The City of Hudson invites residents, property owners, and stakeholders to a follow-up public meeting regarding the city's short-term housing rental code. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 4:00 PM at the Hudson Fire Hall, 2121 Ward Avenue, Hudson, WI 54016.

This session serves as a continuation of discussions on short-term rental regulations, providing an opportunity for community members to listen to a summarized presentation of community feedback received at the first open house event, and to take a brief survey of possible ways to improve the City’s Short Term Rental ordinance.”. 

The presentation, once at 4:30 PM and again at 5:30 PM, will outline public comments received from the previous open house, followed by time to communicate with individual staff members, and a public survey to gather further community input. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in shaping policies that impact neighborhoods and the local economy.

The rise of short-term housing rentals in Hudson has raised concerns about their effects on the City's Zoning Code, the availability of long-term housing for residents, neighborhood stability, and the potential strain on local infrastructure. The City is carefully considering all factors before making a decision on the moratorium.

The City of Hudson encourages all residents to participate in this important conversation about the future of housing in our community.
