A brief update on this Friday. The work downtown on the manholes has finished up, and traffic flow downtown has been restored to normal. The contractor is still working on finishing concrete pavement and restoration work between Vine Street and St Croix Street, which will likely take a few more weeks to complete. One-lane traffic between Division Street and South Street will continue until likely mid-October. Reconstruction work between South Street and Monroe Street in North Hudson will also continue into October.
Some questions have arisen regarding the Lake Mallalieu Boat Launch (Corky’s Pier) off of 2nd Street near North Street. The City and project team are discouraging any new launches from the boat launch due to the constrained area due to construction. If you have a boat that needs to be removed from the water via Corky’s Pier, please remove that boat by September 30th. After that date, construction will be switching over to the other side of 2nd Street and the boat launch will likely be totally inaccessible. Any boat launch traffic accessing 2nd Street will need to follow the temporary traffic signals pointed toward the Public Works facility driveway for safe access to 2nd Street.
