[ARCHIVED] Fire Hydrants - Video on Importance of Clearing Snow

Hudson Fire Chief Scott St. Martin is again asking for the assistance of homeowners in Hudson and North Hudson. If you have a fire hydrant on your property, the Fire Department asks that you take a few minutes and clear the snow around the hydrant and the area from the hydrant to the street. This will allow immediate access to the hydrant in the event of a fire in your neighborhood.

The City realizes that many citizens are tiring of our snowy February and more snow if forecast, but as the attached video shows, the few minutes it would take a firefighter to clear the snow are minutes that are vital to firefighters in suppressing a fire!

The video is from the Oshkosh Fire Department Facebook page, but you DO NOT need a Facebook account to view the video.
