New Parking System - Things to Know
Hudson’s New Parking System will be up and running on November 4th, 2019! During the month of November, we will be issuing courtesy tickets. We will start issuing tickets in December. Below are some helpful tips and reminders for when coming to park downtown Hudson, please make sure to check out the new Hudson Parking website on Monday, November 4th.
Hours of Enforcement
Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm. Sundays will remain free as well as the following holidays; Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, Labor Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, New Year’s Day, and Good Friday.
Starting November 30th through January 2nd, 2020 the first 3 hours of parking will be free. To allow citizens to come down and shop for the holidays. After that initial 3 hours, you will be expected to pay to continue your time.
The rates are remaining the same amount. $.50 cents an hour. You will not be allowed to pay for a half-hour. The minimum you will have to pay is 1 hour. There will be no refunds if you do not exceed 1 Hour. All on-street parking is a 3-hour limit, and we will have 3 hour and 8-hour parking lots. There will be 15 min and handicap parking located throughout the downtown area.
Handicap Parking/ Disabled Veteran Plates
If you have a handicap parking sticker or handicap plates you can be parking anywhere in the downtown area for free. Please make sure you have a valid handicap tag visible. If you are a disabled veteran, you can park free if you have the disabled veteran license plate.
Parking permits will be available for purchase at the Police department at 101 Vine Street. Cash or Check only. There are 2 types of permits, we have a Downtown Permit available for anyone who frequents downtown often, and Downtown Employee Permit for people that work in the downtown area. The permits will be issued through your license plate. THERE WILL BE NO PHYSICAL PERMIT TO HANG IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR. 1 Permit per plate and you will not be able to switch permits to different cars. If you have a permit and your car is in the shop, you will have to pay via Pay station or Passport App.
Parking Permit Fees
Downtown Employee Permit $10.00 a month or $100.00 annually. A Downtown Permit is $20.00 a month or $200.00 annually.
Parking Permit Areas
If you have a parking permit you will be allowed to park in any of the following areas; North Lot, Williams Lot, Beach House Lot, Boat Launch (Seasonal), and On-Street Parking between Vine and Elm. A permit holder will not be allowed to be parked on any on-street parking unless you pay at a pay station or through the Passport App.
Paying a Citation
You can pay by cash or check only at the Police Department, 101 Vine Street, Online, or by mail.
Once you are in your parking space you will find the terminal that is closest to your spot. Once you walk up to the pay station, press the start button and it will walk you through the steps. REMEMBER YOUR LICENSE PLATE NUMBER. If you are parking in a parking lot, you will need to use that pay station. If you are parked on any on-street parking, you can pay on any of those pay stations.
The parking Zones are only for the Passport App. Passport app can be downloaded in the app store.
